Vic: AFL players to be fined over weekend brawl

MELBOURNE, Aug 2 AAP - Two AFL Collingwood footballers will each be fined $5,000 by
their club for their involvement in a weekend brawl.

The Collingwood Football Club today said Chris Tarrant and Ben Johnson were involved
in an alleged assault in Port Melbourne early on Sunday.

Collingwood chief executive Greg Swan today told reporters the club was "not thrilled"

by the events and would not rule out sacking the pair if they were found guilty of their
involvement in the incident.

He said the match committee would decide whether the players would line up in this
weekend's match against the Adelaide Crows.
